Project Debater is the first AI system to successfully engage with a human in a live debate.
In February 2019, Project Debater debated Mr. Harish Natarajan, one of the world's leading professional debaters in an event held in San Francisco and
broadcasted
live worldwide.
The underlying technologies that enabled the live event are now available as software services that include core natural language understanding capabilities, argument mining, key point analysis and narrative generation.
Key Point Analysis and Narrative Generation have been recently demonstrated in the
That's Debatable
television series and in the
Grammy Debates with Watson
backstage experience, where they summarized pro and con arguments contributed online by thousands of people, discussing debate topics ranging from social questions to pop culture.
The same technologies were used to analyze the textual input of the recent IBM Employee Pulse survey which included hundreds of thousands of textual answers to multiple open questions.
We offer these services as containers deployable on IBM cloud, other clouds, or local machines.
We also allow free limited time evaluation of these services on a cloud SaaS instance, as part of IBM Research Early Access Program.
The early access website is available at
early-access-program.
You can login to the website as guest, view the documentation and run online interactive demos of most of the services.
You can then request an API key to access the services from your code by mailing
